Himalayan Birch (Betula Utilis Jacquemontii)
Himalayan Birch – Betula Utilis Jacquemontii
The Himalayan Birch, as it is also known, is a perennial favourite with gardeners with its striking white bark and elegant drooping branches and dark green leaves.
In early Celtic mythology, the birch symbolised renewal and purification. Bundles of birch twigs were used to drive out the spirits of the old year, and gardeners still use the birch besom, or broom, to ‘purify’ their gardens.
These trees are currently growing in our open ground nursery ready to be sold in the autumn as bare root trees. We do also stock container grown Betula Utilis Jacquemontii during the warmer months of the year.
Be sure to visit our trees page where you can see our current stock of trees that are available. We also often have small numbers of other trees on the nursery that we don’t necessarily advertise so if there is something that you are looking for that you can’t see on our website, just give us a call on 01252 714552 or drop us an email on sales@hedgesonline.com.
