Our Box Topiary Ball 70cm is a beautifully clipped evergreen feature, perfect for adding structure, symmetry and year-round interest to gardens. With its large, dense spherical shape, it creates an instant focal point in borders, entrances, patios and formal planting schemes.

Buxus sempervirens, commonly known as Box, is one of the most popular plants for topiary thanks to its small evergreen leaves, dense growth habit and excellent response to clipping. Its timeless appearance makes it a favourite for both traditional and contemporary garden designs.

Key Features

  • Size: 70cm diameter
  • Form: Pre-clipped topiary ball
  • Foliage: Dense evergreen leaves
  • Growth Habit: Compact and highly shapeable

This large topiary ball is ideal for creating instant impact in the garden. It works beautifully as a standalone feature, in pairs to frame entrances, or as part of a structured planting scheme alongside other topiary shapes.

For best results, plant in well-drained soil and water regularly during the establishment period. It also performs exceptionally well in large containers, making it a versatile choice for patios and courtyards.

This large topiary box ball is 70cm wide and has been tightly clipped to produce a dense and smart topiary feature.Box is highly tolerant of pruning and can be trimmed regularly to maintain its neat, rounded shape. Its naturally dense growth ensures a smart appearance throughout the year.

Box is slow growing and these topiary features should be trimmed once or twice a year to ensure that the shape is kept and to ensure that the plant retains its dense habit. Box clips extremely well and can be used to make very tight shapes.

Buxus sempervirens grows well in most soil types, including dry sites and in shade however we recommend that planting compost is used to give your Box plants the best chance of establishing well in their first few years after planting.

More information about planting a Box hedge can be found on the Box hedging category page. We usually stock a range of different sizes of box hedge plants including bare root plants during the colder months of the year and container grown plants all year round as well as our range of topiary.
