Pre-order information

This is a seasonal product that can only be dug from our production fields when the tree/plant has gone dormant and the temperatures are correct. We are expecting this item to be available from mid October 2025.

Sold in bundles of 25, Guelder Rose (Viburnum opulus) is a cost-effective addition to a mixed native hedge. These 60-80cm tall, bare-root plants are dug directly from the field and should be planted promptly to avoid root damage.

Key Benefits:

  • Native & Hardy: Commonly found in UK hedgerows, Guelder Rose thrives in a variety of soils and adds beauty to any mixed hedge.

  • Seasonal Blooms: Enjoy creamy white flowers in spring and early summer, bringing vibrancy to your hedge.

  • Wildlife-Friendly: Provides shelter for birds and insects while adding valuable diversity to your hedge.

  • Versatile: Grows well with other native species like Hawthorn, Field Maple, Blackthorn, and Beech.

Planting & Care:

  • Spacing: Plant 45cm apart in a single row, or 60cm apart in a double row for a denser hedge.

  • Soil: Suitable for a range of soil types.

  • Protection: Use Rootgrow to enhance root development and spiral tree guards to protect from deer and rabbits.

Why Choose Our Guelder Rose Hedging?

  • Affordable: A cost-effective way to add native beauty to your hedge.

  • Easy to Establish: Simple planting and care guidelines for easy growth.

  • Seasonal Interest: Enjoy spring blooms and a vibrant hedge year-round.
