Pre-order information

This is a seasonal product that can only be dug from our production fields when the tree/plant has gone dormant and the temperatures are correct. We are expecting to be able to start digging these plants from the end of October 2026.

Our Yew Hedging at 3-4ft (100-120cm) is supplied rootballed and ready to establish quickly, making it an excellent choice for creating a dense, long-lasting evergreen hedge. These well-grown plants provide reliable structure, privacy and year-round interest from the moment they are planted.

Taxus baccata is one of the UK's most popular evergreen hedging plants, valued for its rich dark green foliage, exceptional longevity and ability to form dense, formal hedges. Its slow to moderate growth rate makes it easy to maintain, while its tolerance of regular clipping allows for a neat, tailored finish.

Key Features

  • Plant Height: 100-120cm (3-4ft)
  • Supply Type: Rootballed
  • Growth Habit: Dense and bushy
  • Foliage: Dark green evergreen needles
  • Position: Full sun, partial shade or full shade
  • Best For: Formal hedging, privacy screening and boundary planting

This size is ideal for establishing a structured hedge with good initial height while allowing strong root development after planting. It is particularly suited to formal gardens, property boundaries and projects where a premium evergreen hedge is required.

Yew is renowned for its versatility and can be clipped into crisp formal lines or allowed to develop into a softer, natural-looking hedge. It also works beautifully alongside other evergreen hedging plants in mixed planting schemes.

For best results, plant approximately 45-60cm apart when creating a hedge and water regularly during the first growing season. Once established, Yew is hardy, low maintenance and provides outstanding year-round screening for decades.
