Crab Apple Red Sentinel (Half Standard Tree) Rootballed
These half standard Crab Apple Trees are a striking ornamental feature addition to any garden. This is an ornamental Crab Apple known as Red Sentinel (the full Latin name is Malus x robusta 'Red Sentinel'). They have beautiful white flowers in the spring and attractive clusters of cherry red fruit in the autumn which last into the winter.
These trees come rootballed, that is to say they are field grown trees which are dug up to order in the colder months of the year whilst they are dormant and come with a ball of soil around their roots wrapped in hessian. They should be planted in the hessians which will quickly rot away and new spring root growth will easily push through the hessian.
Trees of this size should be planted using tree stakes and ties to help prevent them from blowing around too much in their first years of establishment until their roots have become properly settled.
Due to the size of these trees, we will need to quote for delivery on an individual basis. Please telephone us to discuss delivery of your plants. Plants can, of course, be collected from our nursery free of charge.
In addition to Crab Apple trees, we also supply a range of other medium sized specimen trees that are suitable for planting as feature specimens in any garden. Please see our trees page for more details on other trees available.
