Catalpa erubescens 'Purpurea' (Standard Tree) 10ft (300cm) Rootballed
Catalpa bignonioides is also known as the Indian Bean Tree. They are a medium sized deciduous tree with large ovate shaped leaves that are a rich purple-black colour which turn green as the summer progresses.
In the summer they will produce bell shaped white flowers followed by long bean like pods, hence their name Indian Bean Tree.
They will tolerate most soils, including heavy clay.
These trees are supplied rootballed which is to say that they are field grown trees dug up with a ball of soil around their roots which is wrapped in hessian. They should be planted in the hessians which is biodegradeable and will quickly rot away whilst new root growth can easily push through the hessians.
Due to their size, delivery is quoted on an individual basis as these trees are too tall to fit on pallets. Please telephone us on 01252 714552 to discuss delivery options or we will telephone you after you place your order to discuss transport arrangements.
Should you require delivery, a delivery charge will be calculated based on your postcode and added at the checkout stage. Collection from our nursery at GU10 2BH is free of charge.
